Yellowstone National Park and
Beartooth Highway
5 riding days and 6 nights lodging

June 28 to July 2, 2010

This tour starts with a fabulous welcome dinner at the Salt Lake Hilton. The next day our ride takes us north through high mountains, a scenic bird refuge and into Jackson Hole, Wyoming where we will stay in historic downtown and dine in a classic restaurant and bar.

The next day, we pass through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks to experience the eastern side including Jackson Lake, Lower Falls and the “Grand Canyon of Yellowstone”. That night puts us in Cody, Wyoming for the best steak dinner in the state and if you choose, you can take in a rodeo at the edge of town.

The next morning after breakfast, we will start the most northern part of our trip through the Chief Joseph Highway and onto the incredible 11,000 foot Beartooth Highway which has been called “The most beautiful drive in America” by the late Charles Kuralt. After lunch in Red Lodge, we will backtrack over the Beartooth Highway to Cooke City, Montana for a fun evening in a small mountain town (population 150). Trust us, you’ll love it.

The next day we will explore the western side of Yellowstone including lunch at Old Faithful Lodge and then back to Jackson Hole for a Covered Wagon Cookout dinner. The last riding day takes us through Wyoming valleys, plains, and Utah Mountains back to Salt Lake. The trip is about 1200 miles with only 15 freeway miles on the entire route.
