SELF GUIDED TOURS

Tour Five

Southern Utah Red Rocks Extended
6 riding days and 7 nights lodging
1300 miles

The first day of travel will take you through the country roads of Central Utah spending the evening in Bryce City and enjoying the sunset at Bryce Canyon National Park.  The next morning will offer a little more time exploring the park before you ride Utah’s Highway 12 to Torrey, Utah. Highway 12 has been called one of the 10 most scenic roads in the United States and we know a couple of hidden spots along the way that won’t disappoint! You will spend the night in Torrey, Utah and we recommend having dinner with a friend of ours at his restaurant which is a Fodor's Choice 2008 award recipient.

The next morning you fuel up grab a box lunch (no services for quite a while), visit Capitol Reef National Park, and travel through Southern Utah’s red rock wilderness to Natural Bridges National Monument to view some remarkable rock formations. You then travel down the Moki Dugway switchback, a beautiful 1000 foot unpaved drop to the “Valley of the Gods” and head to Bluff, Utah for our overnight accommodations in the red rocks where you can have one of the best steak dinners in the Southwest. Don’t worry about the switchbacks, your bikes can handle it.

The next day you will venture into Canyonlands National Park to a remote location called “Newspaper Rock”, one of the best examples of Native American petroglyphs in Utah. On to Moab, Utah by way of a high wooded mountain route for a two night stay in a downtown scenic location. The following day you can explore several of the incredible areas around Moab including Canyonlands National Park, Arches National Park and Dead Horse Point State Park, all of which includes some of the iconic landscapes that have made Utah famous. Bring some hiking shoes for some short hikes.

Your last day will take you through the high mountains of central Utah back to your luxurious accommodations at the Salt Lake Hilton. Six days, Over 1000 miles, four national parks, a national monument, and an incredible state park. Another nice ride in our incredible state!
